Kuwait Airways Resumes Khartoum Flights After Decades.

Kuwait Airways has marked a historic milestone by landing a flight at Khartoum International Airport for the first time since 1990, signaling a renewed phase of international connectivity for Sudan’s capital.

Sudan’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Awadal-Karim Al-Rayah Balla, described the development as “historic,” stating that the airline’s return symbolizes renewed ties and hope, famously noting that “the Blue Bird has returned to the Blue Nile.”

The flight, operated by a Boeing 777, is also significant as it becomes the first aircraft of its size to land in Khartoum following disruptions caused by the 2023 civil conflict. This highlights the airport’s improved readiness to resume large-scale international operations.

The ambassador also expressed gratitude to Kuwait for its continued support, particularly in facilitating the transport of Sudanese citizens during challenging periods when air travel was severely affected.
