A LATAM Airlines Airbus A320 veered off the runway while landing at Cascavel Regional Airport in Paraná, Brazil, on Monday morning amid heavy rain and thunderstorms. The aircraft was operating flight LA3858 from São Paulo–Guarulhos to Cascavel.

The aircraft, registered PR-MYO, was carrying 145 passengers and six crew members. After landing, it left the paved surface and came to a stop on wet, muddy ground beside the runway. Despite the frightening scene, all 151 people on board were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Heavy rain, thunderstorms and reduced visibility were reported around the time of the landing. However, the exact reason why the aircraft left the runway has not yet been determined, and authorities are expected to examine the weather, runway conditions and aircraft data as part of the investigation.

The incident temporarily disrupted operations at Cascavel Airport, while the aircraft remained off the paved surface awaiting recovery. LATAM also cancelled the return LA3859 service and arranged alternative travel for affected passengers. The airline said it is providing assistance and cooperating with authorities investigating the incident.
