Qantas has revealed new details about the Wellbeing Zone planned for its upcoming Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft that will operate the airline’s ultra long-haul Project Sunrise flights. The special onboard space is designed to help passengers stay comfortable during nonstop journeys lasting up to 22 hours.

The dedicated area will be located between the Premium Economy and Economy cabins and will be accessible to all passengers onboard. According to Qantas, the zone will allow travelers to stretch, move around, hydrate and take short breaks during flights between Sydney and destinations including London and New York.

The airline said it worked closely with researchers, medical experts and aircraft designers to study ways of reducing fatigue, improving passenger comfort and minimizing jet lag on extremely long flights. The initiative is part of Qantas’ broader focus on passenger wellbeing for Project Sunrise operations.

Qantas expects to receive the first Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft in late 2026, while commercial Project Sunrise services connecting Australia with Europe and the United States are scheduled to begin during the northern summer 2027 season.
