Passengers travelling from Delhi to Mumbai on a SpiceJet flight on August 14, 2026, reportedly faced a frustrating experience after their flight was delayed by more than four hours.

According to passengers, the prolonged delay caused significant inconvenience, with travellers alleging that no proper meal or refreshments were provided during the waiting period. Many passengers reportedly remained at the airport without clear information about when the flight would finally depart.

Passengers also claimed that a SpiceJet representative allegedly stated that the airline did not have sufficient funds to pay for fuel and certain airport-related charges, while also referring to government policies. These claims have not been independently verified.

The situation reportedly left passengers questioning the airline’s communication, assistance and arrangements during the extended delay. Travellers said they expected better support and timely updates, particularly after being kept waiting for several hours.

Passengers have urged SpiceJet to clarify the reason behind the delay and address the allegations regarding the lack of refreshments and assistance.

The incident has once again highlighted concerns about passenger service and communication during lengthy flight delays, with travellers expecting airlines to provide clear information and appropriate assistance when disruptions occur.
