Techo International Airport, Cambodia’s newest major infrastructure project, is on track to officially open in July 2025 as planned, with over 94 percent of construction now completed. The announcement was made by Oknha Charles Vann, Director of Cambodia Airport Investment Co. Ltd. (CAIC), during a visit by high-level delegates from the Australian and Philippine embassies, led by their ambassadors, Derek Yip and Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo, on February 21.
Vann emphasized that the construction team is working diligently to complete the final stages of the project, ensuring that Techo International Airport is ready for operation as scheduled. The airport, which will be a major hub for both domestic and international flights, is expected to boost Cambodia’s connectivity, supporting the country’s growing aviation and tourism industries.
The inauguration of Techo International Airport will be a landmark event for Cambodia, marking a new era of air travel for the nation. The airport’s opening will coincide with significant investments in Cambodia’s infrastructure, aligning with the country’s broader economic development goals.
In addition to the airport’s progress, Oknha Charles Vann also highlighted a new collaboration between the Philippine Embassy and Cambodia. Philippine Airlines is set to partner with Cambodia to establish an aircraft repair training school at CamTech University. This initiative aims to bolster the country’s aviation sector by providing essential skills training for future aviation professionals, contributing to the growth of the local aviation industry and fostering stronger ties between Cambodia and the Philippines.
As Techo International Airport prepares to open, it is poised to play a key role in Cambodia’s aviation expansion, enhancing its connectivity with the global travel market and supporting regional and international partnerships. The airport is expected to become a vital infrastructure asset for the country, attracting both passengers and airlines from around the world.
