Timor-Leste’s Aero Dili is considering adding a third aircraft in 2027 as limited fleet availability is currently restricting the airline’s plans to expand its network. Executive Director Lourenço de Oliveira said the airline does not have enough aircraft available to launch some of its planned services.
One of the proposed routes is Dili–Kupang in Indonesia. The airline has already held discussions with authorities in Indonesia about the potential service, but the route may have to wait until another aircraft becomes available.
Aero Dili currently operates two Airbus narrowbody aircraft, an A320-200 and an A319-100. These aircraft are already deployed across the airline’s growing international network, serving destinations in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and China.
Adding a third aircraft would give Aero Dili more capacity and operational flexibility while allowing it to consider additional regional routes. The airline has previously targeted a three-aircraft fleet as part of its expansion plans.
