Delta CEO Sets Sights on Global Airline Leadership.

Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian has set an ambitious goal for the airline: to be recognized among the world’s leading carriers, not just as the top airline in the United States.

In a recent podcast interview, Bastian said he wants Delta’s name to be mentioned alongside the world’s most respected airlines, including major Middle Eastern and Asian carriers such as Singapore Airlines. He believes Delta should compete at the same global level in terms of reputation and passenger experience.

The goal comes as Delta continues investing heavily in its product, including new aircraft, upgraded cabins and expanded airport lounges. The airline has also built one of the strongest brands and most loyal customer bases in the U.S. aviation industry.

While airlines such as Singapore Airlines and leading Gulf carriers have long been known worldwide for premium service and luxury, Bastian believes Delta has the foundation to make a similar leap onto the global stage.
