The Delhi High Court has rejected a plea filed by SpiceJet and its Managing Director Ajay Singh in an ongoing arbitration dispute. The airline had requested the court to allow attachment of Singh’s Gurugram property instead of depositing ₹144 crore as directed earlier.

The case is linked to a long-standing legal battle involving Kalanithi Maran and KAL Airways. The dispute stems from past financial and ownership disagreements, which have led to multiple legal proceedings over the years.

In its decision, the court declined to accept the alternative arrangement proposed by SpiceJet and Ajay Singh. It maintained that the airline must comply with the earlier directive to deposit the ₹144 crore amount, reinforcing the importance of adhering to arbitration obligations.

This development marks another significant step in the prolonged dispute, putting additional financial pressure on the airline as it navigates both legal and operational challenges in the competitive aviation sector.
