An employee working at Kempegowda International Airport has shared allegations of workplace humiliation following an incident during a routine terminal inspection.

According to the employee, the incident occurred after a senior official noticed he had forgotten to wear his tie while conducting a scheduled inspection at Terminal 1. The employee said he immediately admitted the mistake, apologized, and assured the official it would not happen again. His supervisor also apologized after being questioned about the uniform violation.

However, the employee alleges he was then instructed to touch his supervisor’s feet as part of the apology. Calling the request humiliating and inappropriate in a professional workplace, he said he respectfully refused and was subsequently asked to leave the terminal.

The employee stated that while he accepted responsibility for the dress code violation, he believed disciplinary matters should be handled with professionalism and respect, without compromising an individual’s dignity.

Following the incident, the employee raised the matter through the organization’s Ethics & Compliance process. He thanked the Ethics & Compliance team for accepting his complaint, listening to his concerns, and initiating an investigation. The allegations have drawn attention online, with many calling for respectful treatment of employees in professional workplaces.
