Swiss International Air Lines has begun offering cabin crew up to £14,000 to voluntarily resign as part of efforts to manage excess staffing amid reduced flight operations.

The airline, a subsidiary of Lufthansa Group, is also providing options for temporary leave, giving employees flexibility during the slowdown in planned services.

Crew members who choose to leave by April 30 will receive a pro-rated payout of 15,000 Swiss francs (£14,249), according to a company spokesperson. The move aims to align workforce levels with current operational demand.

This decision reflects broader challenges faced by European carriers as they adjust capacity, optimize costs, and respond to shifting travel demand across international markets.
