Dubai International Airport has reported strong passenger traffic, with nearly 6 million travelers passing through its terminals between February 28 and April 30. During the same period, the airport handled over 32,000 flight movements and processed around 213,000 tons of cargo.
Officials highlighted that international operations continued smoothly despite ongoing regional challenges, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for millions of passengers traveling through the global hub.
In the first quarter of 2026, the airport recorded approximately 18.6 million passengers. However, this figure reflects a slight decline compared to the same period last year, with authorities attributing the drop to temporary regional tensions impacting travel demand.
Meanwhile, development work continues at Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai’s secondary aviation hub. Despite this, Dubai International Airport remains a key global transit center, maintaining its importance in international air travel and cargo operations.
