Australia has unveiled a new 10-year defense technology strategy, placing hypersonic weapons, high-energy laser systems, artificial intelligence, and autonomous aircraft at the center of its future military capabilities.

Several key programs are already moving toward operational deployment, including the Boeing MQ-28 Ghost Bat, the Fractl counter-drone laser system, and AI technology integrated into the Boeing P-8A Poseidon. These projects are designed to strengthen Australia’s defense readiness while enhancing surveillance, combat support, and counter-drone operations.

The long-term strategy reflects Australia’s focus on adopting advanced technologies to modernize its armed forces and address evolving regional and global security challenges over the next decade.
