Himalaya Airlines Ground Handling Approval Delayed.

Tribhuvan International Airport has withheld final approval for Himalaya Airlines to launch its self-ground handling services after the airline reportedly failed to clear around Rs. 550 million in outstanding airport service charges.

According to airport authorities, the airline has already completed most of the required legal, operational, and technical formalities. However, officials said the remaining unpaid airport dues must be settled before final authorization can be granted.

The decision is expected to delay Himalaya Airlines’ plans to independently manage key airport operations, including passenger services, baggage handling, and aircraft turnaround at Nepal’s busiest airport. Authorities have indicated that approval will only be issued once all outstanding payments are cleared.
