Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) handled more than 78 million passengers in 2025, securing its position among the world’s busiest aviation hubs.
The airport ranked 11th globally in passenger traffic, surpassing major international airports in Seoul, Paris and Los Angeles. IGI was also the only Indian airport to feature among the global top 20.
The strong passenger numbers highlight Delhi’s growing importance as a major gateway for both domestic and international travel. The airport serves a large network of destinations and continues to play a key role in India’s expanding aviation sector.
The ranking also reflects the continued growth in passenger demand and the increasing importance of Indian airports in the global aviation network.
