Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) has welcomed its latest aircraft, the Cessna 208B EX registered P2-PRN, to Papua New Guinea following months of preparation and technical modifications.
The aircraft arrived last week after completing approximately nine months of modifications and administrative procedures. It was issued its Certificate of Airworthiness before being welcomed by the MAF Papua New Guinea team upon arrival.
The Cessna 208B EX is the first aircraft of its type to operate in Papua New Guinea. Compared with earlier versions, it features a longer airframe, increased passenger capacity and a more powerful Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-140 engine.
The addition strengthens MAF’s fleet and supports its mission of connecting remote communities across Papua New Guinea, where challenging terrain makes air transport essential for accessing healthcare, education and other vital services.
