National Airlines has completed what is believed to be the longest nonstop Boeing 777 Freighter mission operated on behalf of another airline, flying from Glasgow Prestwick Airport to Melbourne without a refueling stop.
Operated on August 4, 2026, the Boeing 777 Freighter covered an impressive 9,849 nautical miles (18,240 km) in 19 hours and 23 minutes, operating close to the aircraft’s maximum range capability. While the airline has not revealed the cargo, industry observers believe the flight may have transported urgently needed aircraft parts or other time-sensitive shipments.
The milestone highlights the increasing importance of ultra-long-haul cargo operations in supporting global supply chains and demonstrates the capabilities of modern freighter aircraft.
