India has taken a major step toward addressing its growing aviation workforce needs by strengthening its domestic pilot training ecosystem, as the country is expected to require nearly 30,000 new pilots over the next decade.
As part of the initiative, Letters of Intent (LoIs) were handed over to 11 new Flying Training Organisations (FTOs) under the leadership of Prime Minister **Narendra Modi>. The move is expected to significantly increase India’s pilot training capacity and create more opportunities for aspiring aviators to complete their training within the country.
The expansion comes as Indian airlines continue to place record aircraft orders and rapidly grow their domestic and international networks. By developing more world-class training infrastructure, India aims to reduce its dependence on overseas flight schools while ensuring a steady supply of highly skilled pilots to support the country’s fast-growing aviation sector.
