Pakistan has commenced its Hajj flight operations, with the first batch of pilgrims departing for Saudi Arabia under improved facilities for the annual pilgrimage. Authorities have introduced several enhancements to ensure a smoother and more comfortable travel experience for pilgrims.

Religious Affairs Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousuf said the government is committed to providing the “best possible facilities” during this year’s Hajj operation. He, along with senior officials, saw off pilgrims at Islamabad International Airport, where the first flight departed for Riyadh shortly after 9 a.m.

Earlier, the first Hajj flight, PK-747, carrying more than 390 pilgrims, departed from Sialkot to Madinah in the early hours. Officials confirmed that all operational preparations were completed on time with support from Saudi authorities, ensuring efficient coordination for the pilgrimage season.

The government also highlighted the expansion of the Road to Makkah Project to Lahore, in addition to Karachi and Islamabad. The initiative is expected to benefit over 95,000 pilgrims this year by streamlining immigration processes and reducing travel delays.
