Several Ryanair employees were forced to flee their homes after a suspected coordinated arson attack targeted staff accommodation near Dublin Airport.

The incident occurred in the Fosterstown Place area of Swords, where seven homes occupied by Ryanair employees were reportedly targeted. Suspects allegedly set garbage bins on fire and pushed them against the front doors, causing flames and smoke to spread into the entrances.

Many residents were asleep when the attack began. Some employees escaped through rear exits, while others sheltered inside their homes until emergency services confirmed it was safe to leave.

The Dublin Fire Brigade and Irish police responded quickly, bringing the fires under control. Four homes suffered smoke and fire damage, but no employees were physically injured.

Ryanair condemned the incident as a “criminal arson attack” and said it is supporting affected employees with alternative accommodation, extra security measures, and CCTV installation at the properties.

The airline confirmed it is cooperating with police as the investigation continues. Authorities are seeking witnesses and footage while working to determine the motive behind the attack.

The targeted housing was provided by Ryanair to support employees working near Dublin Airport amid challenges caused by rising housing costs.
