An Indian passenger has been sentenced to six months in jail after being found guilty of molesting and harassing a Singapore Airlines flight attendant during a flight from Bangkok to Singapore.

Akash Tiwari was also ordered on June 22, 2026, to pay around S$1,270 in compensation to the victim. Failure to pay would result in an additional five days in prison.

The incident took place on February 9, 2026, when the passenger was traveling with a group that reportedly behaved disruptively toward female cabin crew members during the flight. According to the case details, he inappropriately touched the crew member twice and continued despite being confronted.

As the aircraft prepared for landing, the passenger allegedly followed the cabin crew member into the galley area and cornered her. The flight captain was informed and authorities were alerted before arrival.

Police officers arrested the passenger after the aircraft landed at Singapore Changi Airport. The case highlights the importance of respecting cabin crew members, who are responsible for passenger safety and maintaining order onboard.
