Air India has announced a significant change in its operations for flights to Japan, shifting its non-stop service between Delhi and Tokyo from Narita International Airport (NRT) to Haneda Airport (HND). Starting March 31, 2025, the airline will operate four weekly flights to Haneda, offering passengers quicker and more convenient access to central Tokyo.
The decision to move operations to Haneda aligns with Air India’s strategy to enhance connectivity and passenger convenience on its international routes. Haneda Airport is much closer to downtown Tokyo compared to Narita, reducing travel time and making the journey more cost-effective for travelers.
Alongside this transition, Air India has also expanded its codeshare agreement with All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest airline. The strengthened partnership will provide passengers with greater connectivity options within Japan and beyond, allowing seamless travel between multiple destinations.
The shift to Haneda and the expanded ANA codeshare reflect Air India’s efforts to optimize its international network while improving passenger experience. By leveraging strategic partnerships and airport choices, the airline aims to strengthen its presence in the Japanese market and provide travelers with more efficient travel solutions.
