Emirates has officially started construction on a massive US$5.1 billion engineering complex at Dubai South, set to become the world’s most advanced aviation MRO facility. The project marks another major step in strengthening Dubai’s global aviation leadership.
The ultra-modern facility will have the capacity to handle 28 wide-body aircraft simultaneously, allowing Emirates to significantly expand its maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations for its growing international fleet.
The complex will also feature the world’s largest free-span aircraft hangar along with the largest dedicated landing gear workshop globally. Aviation experts say the new center will enhance operational efficiency while supporting next-generation aircraft technologies and long-term fleet growth.
Located at Dubai South, the project further reinforces Dubai as one of the world’s leading aviation hubs. The development is expected to create thousands of skilled jobs while boosting the region’s aerospace and engineering sectors in the coming years.
