ndia has welcomed France’s decision to allow visa-free airport transit for Indian nationals traveling through mainland France. The move came into effect on April 10, easing travel for passengers transiting exclusively by air.
According to Randhir Jaiswal, the decision was agreed upon during talks between Narendra Modi and Emmanuel Macron earlier this year. The policy reflects strengthening ties under the India-France strategic partnership.
The exemption is expected to simplify travel, enhance connectivity, and boost people-to-people exchanges between the two nations. It also reduces travel hurdles for Indian passengers using French airports as transit hubs.
India also welcomed Japan’s review of defence export principles and confirmed ongoing constructive talks with the United States on a bilateral trade agreement targeting $500 billion by 2030.
