easyJet is encouraging people in their 50s and 60s to consider careers as cabin crew, challenging the perception that aviation jobs are mainly for younger workers. The airline says life experience and transferable skills can be valuable onboard.

Since 2022, easyJet has increased its number of cabin crew aged over 50 by 127%, while the number aged over 60 has nearly quadrupled. Around 12% of the airline’s cabin crew are now over 50.

The airline highlights skills such as communication, customer service, problem-solving, confidence and staying calm under pressure as qualities that can make experienced career changers strong candidates for cabin crew roles.

easyJet plans to open applications for hundreds of cabin crew positions for 2027, continuing its efforts to build a more multigenerational workforce.
